Anyone submitting and having trouble and frustration over the past few weeks, we offer our apologies. Apparently our email address for submittals is broken. There’s now a new Gmail-based one on the site, which, truth be told, is where the old one pointed anyway.

For those of you who are fond of traditional fairy tales, this is for you. As for there being a speculative fiction element in it, well, it’s set in a magical kingdom, but really there’s no magic in it — except for that of love.
And it’s the most powerful, transformational magic that exists. The wonderful thing is, it really does exist.
Thank goodness for that!

We all know that there’s a whole other world on the other side of the dream curtain, right? A surreal place where the true gods and demons dwell? Not to mention passionate love and bitter rivalry.
Strap in tight because this story is a wild and fun ride.

Aimee presents us with a fun and twisted tale of time, quantum physics, and online dating — with a combination like that, how can you go wrong?
I’d actually goofed on this story. It was one of the ones purchased before I took the helm here, and there were two versions of the story — the original, and an updated one with a different ending that was chosen for purchase.
Well, guess which one I published? The original. But when Aimee contacted me and pointed this out, I went back and read both stories, and ended up liking the original better. So we decided to leave that one live on the site.

We have a soft spot in our hearts for stories that show how love can endure time, space, and dimensions.
This little story gives us that in a beautiful and unique way….
Please read and enjoy!

This is my favorite kind of fantasy.
Lost in time and space, Rhonda creates a world, a culture, and a mythology that is perfectly in balance, using the familiar to make the unfamiliar more tangible. This story uses the feel of a fable or fairy tale but then explores the unbounded arena of fantasy, drawing on the complete freedom of the genre to create something totally unique. Gods, holes between worlds, fate — she owns them in this story.
We are very proud and happy to have plucked this out of the submissions queue and place it front and center on our publication.
Please read and enjoy!

Someone put a sleeping potion in the cocktail olives or something, because last we knew it was March, and here it is October.
Actually there’s been some changes behind the scenes, and we have to send an apology out to all the writers who’s works have been sitting in the queue gathering dust.
Let me introduce myself: I’m your new editor, Jerry J. Davis.
My name is familiar here because I’m actually the publisher. When we set the place up, though, I was to remain behind the scenes, pulling levers, twisting knobs, and signing checks. My friends Mary Jo and Bill were going to do all the real work. Well, as it turns out, you see … this isn’t a business, it’s more a labor of love, which means we all have day jobs and families. The task turned out to be a bit overwhelming for Mary Jo, and so she’s sadly had to step back and take an associate editor position. Bill is in the same boat. Work and family overload.
Me, being that I have boundless energy and limitless time (?!?) I’ve stepped forward to take the reins.
So, my sincere apologies to all you readers who have been wondering if new stories were ever going to appear (they are!), to the writers who’ve submitted stories and wondered if they dropped into a black hole (they haven’t), and to the three writers who’s stories we’ve accepted and then left in limbo for the last several months.
I promise to get this ship back on course and get the hyperdrive fixed.
Next stop … some romantic SF!

Here’s hoping you like the new look and feel of Quantum Kiss.
What happened is that we are preparing for the new wave of demand in short fiction — this version of Quantum Kiss, when viewed by a mobile device such as a smart phone, looks quite different. It’s simple and easy to read on small screens.
In order to do that, we needed to revamp the website, and the easiest way to do it was to convert it to WordPress (which this section, the blog, has always been on).
Using a simple and free plug-in, everything we publish here is automatically translated to this new phone-friendly format.
And in the process I came up with a new look for the traditional web site.
