I’d actually goofed on this story.  It was one of the ones purchased before I took the helm here, and there were two versions of the story — the original, and an updated one with a different ending that was chosen for purchase.

Well, guess which one I published?  The original.  But when Aimee contacted me and pointed this out, I went back and read both stories, and ended up liking the original better.  So we decided to leave that one live on the site.

Actually there’s been some changes behind the scenes, and we have to send an apology out to all the writers who’s works have been sitting in the queue gathering dust.

Let me introduce myself:  I’m your new editor, Jerry J. Davis.

My name is familiar here because I’m actually the publisher.  When we set the place up, though, I was to remain behind the scenes, pulling levers, twisting knobs, and signing checks.  My friends Mary Jo and Bill were going to do all the real work.  Well, as it turns out, you see … this isn’t a business, it’s more a labor of love, which means we all have day jobs and families.  The task turned out to be a bit overwhelming for Mary Jo, and so she’s sadly had to step back and take an associate editor position.  Bill is in the same boat.  Work and family overload.

Me, being that I have boundless energy and limitless time (?!?) I’ve stepped forward to take the reins.

So, my sincere apologies to all you readers who have been wondering if new stories were ever going to appear (they are!), to the writers who’ve submitted stories and wondered if they dropped into a black hole (they haven’t), and to the three writers who’s stories we’ve accepted and then left in limbo for the last several months.

I promise to get this ship back on course and get the hyperdrive fixed.

Next stop … some romantic SF!

What happened is that we are preparing for the new wave of demand in short fiction — this version of Quantum Kiss, when viewed by a mobile device such as a smart phone, looks quite different.  It’s simple and easy to read on small screens.

In order to do that, we needed to revamp the website, and the easiest way to do it was to convert it to WordPress (which this section, the blog, has always been on).

Using a simple and free plug-in, everything we publish here is automatically translated to this new phone-friendly format.

And in the process I came up with a new look for the traditional web site.
